What Guestpix does well
Guestpix pairs the gallery with the words around it. Guests scan a code or tap a link and land in the gallery in their browser, without an app or an account, and the guest pages come in more languages than EventAssets offers today. Next to their photos, guests can write in the guestbook on every plan, and on the plans with video they can record a short video message straight from the gallery, so the congratulations can be watched as well as read.
The digital invitation carries the event's details and an RSVP form, where guests confirm and share dietary requirements, and it comes with the free plan too. During the event, a slideshow picks up new uploads as they arrive, uploads can wait for your approval before other guests see them, and on the larger plans Super Albums give parts of the event a QR code and a link of their own. When you download the gallery, the guestbook messages come along in the same ZIP file.
The plans are made per occasion, with their own ladders for weddings, engagements, parties, kids' parties and business events, and the larger business plans can carry your own brand. Printable templates, such as an I Spy card that lists what you would love to see captured, give guests ideas for the day. If you want an invitation, a gallery and a guestbook with video from one provider, Guestpix brings them together.
Where EventAssets offers more
EventAssets builds a full event page around the gallery: the schedule of the day, the location on a map and what guests should know, all on the page you send with the invitation. The replies work from your guest list: guests find their name, answer for their whole party, plus-ones and children included, and fill in your questions before the deadline you set, while the statistics update as the answers arrive.
The same list feeds the seating chart, where you place tables on a canvas and seat parties together, and guests look up their table on the event page. Budgets with line items, planned and actual amounts and due dates sit beside it, so the costs of the day are planned where the guests are.
The guestbook takes written messages and voice recordings made in the browser, signed with a name from the guest list or left anonymous, and you can review entries before they appear. Guests can send videos to the gallery on every plan, the free one included, and albums come with every plan as well. Hosts can run all of it from the web or from the apps for iPhone and Android.
An invitation and a gallery, or a home for the event
The core difference is how the parts connect. Guestpix offers an invitation with RSVP beside a gallery with a guestbook, with plans cut to each occasion. EventAssets keeps one guest list at the centre: the page, the replies, the seating, the guestbook signatures and the budgets all draw on it, and the gallery keeps the photos, videos and messages afterwards.
How long guests can upload and how long the gallery stays online depends on the plan with Guestpix, while EventAssets gives every plan the same windows; the table above sets them side by side, with the prices each plan costs. If you mainly need the gallery and the guestbook, compare those rows. If you would otherwise keep the seating in a separate tool and the costs in a spreadsheet, compare the planning rows as well.
What to check before you decide
Decide which messages you want to keep: written, spoken or filmed. Check whether guests should send videos on the plan you choose, whether parts of the event need albums of their own, and whether the replies, the seating chart and the costs belong in the same place as the pictures. Then pick the plan that covers it, with either provider, and try the free plan first. With EventAssets, the event page, the guest list and the guestbook are yours to set up before you pay anything.
