What Fotify does well
Fotify covers a lot of ground around an event. Guests scan a QR code or open a link and upload in the browser, without an app or an account, and their photos appear on a live carousel at the venue, as a slideshow or a collage wall. Uploads appear at once, wait for your approval or, on the paid plans, are screened by AI first, and guests react to and comment on the photos in albums.
Around the photos sits a digital invitation with the schedule, the location on a map and a wide choice of designs; it collects replies with plus-ones and your own questions, and the seating chart is built from them. Some of what Fotify does, EventAssets does not do. Guests can reserve presents from a wishlist, send cash gifts by QR code or follow links to registries held elsewhere. Games such as photo battles and challenges come with the larger plans, confirmed guests check in at the door with a personal QR code, and the DJ receives song requests. Its largest plan adds a planning hub with vendors, a decisions board and a checklist beside the budget.
The guest pages and the dashboard also come in more languages than EventAssets offers, right-to-left scripts included, which matters at an international event where not everyone reads the language of the hosts.
Where EventAssets offers more
EventAssets puts its whole set of tools on every plan. The free plan already takes videos as well as photos, keeps every file in its original quality and lets you download everything as a ZIP. One payment per event lifts the caps on photos, videos, storage and voice recordings, and nothing else waits for it.
The event page carries the schedule, the location on a map, cover photos and what guests should know, and it collects the replies: guests find their name, answer for their whole party and fill in your questions, for the whole guest list on every plan. The guest list feeds the seating chart, and guests look up their table on the same page. Budgets sit beside it on every plan, with planned and actual amounts and the dates each payment is due and was paid.
The guestbook is a section of its own, apart from the gallery. Guests write a message or record a voice note in the browser, signed with a name from the guest list or left anonymous, and you decide which entries appear. Uploads to the gallery can wait for your approval in the same way, albums keep the ceremony and the party apart, and guests react and comment on every plan. Hosts run all of it from the web or from the apps for iPhone and Android.
Opened plan by plan, or capped only by volume
The core difference is how each one is put together. Fotify is a wide toolbox whose parts open with the plan. Its free plan collects photos in reduced size for a short window, next to the invitation, the replies and the seating chart. Full resolution, written messages and the download of the whole album come with its first paid plan; videos, voice messages and the games with the plan above; the budget with its largest plan. How many guests you can invite digitally also depends on the plan. EventAssets offers a smaller set of tools and includes all of them on the free plan, so what grows with the payment is how much the event holds, not what it can do.
Both charge once per event instead of by subscription. How long guests can upload and how long the gallery stays online depends on the plan with Fotify, which counts the gallery's time from the day uploads close, and is the same on every plan with EventAssets; the table above sets the windows side by side, with the price of each plan. If a gift list or games are what you are looking for, those rows decide it. If you want videos, the guestbook and the budget without moving up a plan, or an app to run the event, compare the planning rows and the apps for hosts as well.
What to check before you decide
Write down what the day needs from your guests: photos and videos, written or spoken wishes, replies with meal choices, a seat at a table, perhaps a gift list or a game. Then check which plan covers each of these with either provider, for how long, and for how many invited guests, and whether some of your guests need a language beyond those EventAssets offers. Try the free plan first. With Fotify, the free plan lets you try the photo collection, the invitation and the seating chart; with EventAssets, the event page, the guest list, the seating chart, the budget and the guestbook are yours to set up before you pay anything.
