What Lejour does well
Lejour is a wedding website and a gift list in one, made in Brazil for Brazilian weddings, and Lejour says both are free to use. You build the site from a template with your story, the ceremony and the reception with their addresses on Google Maps, and the dress code, then share it by link. Guests confirm on the same site: you set a deadline, count children separately if you wish, limit the replies to your guest list and ask your own questions. Reminders reach guests through WhatsApp, one by one on the Premium and Pro plans or to the whole list as a paid extra.
The gift list is the heart of Lejour. Guests pay by Pix, boleto or card, and the couple withdraws the amount to their bank account or spends it on Fast Shop products; guests can also contribute to a goal such as the honeymoon. Lejour keeps a fee on each gift, lower on the paid plans, and the couple decides whether they or the guest pays it. Hosts follow gifts, replies and the balance in the Lejour app for iPhone and Android.
For the photos, Lejour has Capture. Guests scan a QR code and send their pictures through an App Clip on iPhone or an Instant App on Android, which Lejour says needs no download, and the photos appear in the couple's gallery as they arrive. You decide when the gallery accepts photos, a slideshow shows them on a screen at the venue, and Lejour says the gallery stays for good. The free plan takes photos from a few guests; Premium lifts the limits and adds a download of every photo as a ZIP file. If gifts in money are what you need most, Lejour is made for exactly that, and EventAssets has no gift list.
Where EventAssets offers more
EventAssets puts the replies, the seating and the costs on the same page. The event page shows the schedule, the location on a map, cover photos and an about text. Guests find their name, answer for their whole party, plus-ones and children included, and fill in your own questions before your deadline; the guest list exports as a CSV file. From that list you build the seating chart, with tables on a canvas and parties seated together, and guests look up their table on the event page. Beside it, budgets hold the line items of the day with planned and actual amounts. All of this is part of the free plan.
On the day, guests open the same link or scan a QR code and upload photos and videos in the browser, in original quality, without an app or an account. You sort them into albums, approve uploads before others see them if you wish, and download everything as a ZIP; guests react to the photos and comment on them. A full-screen slideshow picks up new uploads while it runs. The guestbook takes written messages and voice recordings made in the browser, signed with a name from the guest list or left anonymous, and you can review entries before they appear. Hosts run all of it from the web or from the apps for iPhone and Android.
A gift list with a website, or a page for the whole event
The core difference is what each one is built around. Lejour is built around the gift list and the website that carries it: the page guests visit before the day and the gifts they give there, with Capture for the photos. EventAssets is built around the event page and what guests bring to it: the replies and the seating before the day, and the photos, videos and messages during and after it.
They are also paid for differently: Lejour's website and gift list are free, and Lejour keeps a fee on each gift, which its paid plans lower. If a gift list in money is central for you, Lejour covers it, and EventAssets does not. If you want the seating chart, a budget and a guestbook included, compare the rows for planning, photos and the guestbook in the table above. Where Lejour's own pages state nothing on a point, the table says so instead of guessing.
What to check before you decide
List what the wedding needs: a website for the invitation, replies with your own questions, a gift list, a seating chart, a place for the photos and videos, and a guestbook. Then see which of these each one includes, which are paid extras and how each one is paid for: a fee on the gifts, a plan, or both. With EventAssets, the event page, the guest list, the seating chart, the budget and the guestbook are yours to set up before you pay anything; one payment per event lifts the caps on photos, videos, storage and voice recordings.
